On Saturday, July 12, Issaquah Rotary will be hosting the 17th annual Challenge Series Races.

This event allows those with disabilities to experience the fun and excitement of a soapbox derby-type race.  Racing down 2nd Avenue in front of the Community Center in historic downtown Issaquah is a thrill for all the participants.

For the races, two participants climb into the seat of a car.  The participant with disabilities is paired up with an able-bodied driver at the wheel.  All participants are an integral part of the racing team and enjoy the experience.  Participants must be 5’2” or under and less than 130 pounds.

For race details and how to register check out http://www.issaquahrotary.org/Comm/challengerace.php

What is Issaquah Rotary?

The Rotary Club of Issaquah continually redefines itself through new members, new vision and activities, and new forms of local and global service. More than 50 men and women ages 25 to 70+ make up our current membership. Bringing together a wide range of professional and business backgrounds, the Club meets weekly on Tuesdays from 12:15 to 1:30 pm in Issaquah.

Our meetings are an informal gathering of friends who work together toward a common purpose: the betterment of our community and world. Rotary's motto "Service Above Self" amply describes what Rotary is all about. Each week a relevant, interesting program brings our membership together for fellowship. Speakers include local merchants and service providers, industry champions, international experts, and many others that help broaden our professional, ethical and charitable horizons.
Rotary builds international understanding through scholarships, exchange programs, and humanitarian grants. Throughout the world, Rotary clubs participate in a broad range of educational, intercultural, and humanitarian activities designed to improve the lives of others.
Benefits of Membership
Belonging to a Rotary club provides members with an opportunity to make a contribution to their own communities and to communities around the world.
Individuals may join Rotary for many reasons, including community involvement, personal development, professional networking, and camaraderie with fellow members. But perhaps the most important benefit is the satisfaction gained from making a real difference in the world.
