The fourth annual Grape Escape is set for Saturday, March 13 from 6-9 p.m., at the Hilton Garden Inn in Issaquah. This annual wine-tasting and community social event helps to fund scholarships for worthy local graduates and brings the community together for exceptional bargains on fine and interesting wines not readily available in local outlets.  Our primary event sponsor is Swedish Hospital-Issaquah.

This year we are featuring the newest Washington AVA – the Lake Chelan AVA.  Wineries that will be presenting their wines to our guests include:

Wapato Point Cellars
Lake Chelan Winery
Rio Vista Winery
Hard Row to Hoe Vineyards
Ventimiglia Cellars

Admission is $50 per person in advance on or before Sunday March 7, 2010; $60 after that date and at the door.

Guests are eligible to purchase with no sales tax at prices at or around retail.  Special case pricing is also a feature of the evening. 

Wines will be poured by representatives of the wineries who know the best food pairings and possibilities for their offerings.

All purchases help to fund scholarships for Issaquah, Liberty and Tiger Mountain high school graduates who will be identified in the spring.
 
In addition to the wine tasting an array of creative foods by the Hilton Garden Inns outstanding chef will be served throughout the evening.
 
The event also includes a silent auction of wine-related items and experiences and a wide range of entertainment packages.  A special raffle at 8 pm will offer guests an unusual gift opportunity and promises to push the 2010 scholarship level above the $12,000 total funded by the club last year.

After three years the Grape Escape has become a great Community event. Attendees can enjoy delectable food prepared especially for each years fanciful wine sampling.

Following up on first years success, the 2008 event featured wines from prominent wineries in the Yakima Valley with many varieties to suit everyone's tastes. The 2009 event  featured wines of the Columbia Gorge region in Washington. Planning for the 2010 event is underway so stay tuned for more details.
